Bus Schedule Changes Coming to Addison County August 26
Beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Tri-Valley Transit will implement several schedule and stop updates to improve service for riders in Addison County. These changes affect the MSB Hannaford route and the 116 Commuter route between Middlebury and Burlington.
These changes are the result of direct conversations with bus riders. TVT gathered data through paper and online surveys from commuters along the LINK to Burlington and 116 Commuter routes.
TVT aims to serve more riders with more efficient routing in Middlebury on the MSB Hannaford and through a schedule shift on the #4 116 Commuter bus. The LINK schedule will not change as it is currently serving most riders’ needs.
TVT appreciates hearing from our riders. Your feedback helps us shape the future of transit in Vermont. Updated schedules will be available online and in the Passenger Guide prior to the service change.
MSB Hannaford Route
The weekday MSB Hannaford route has been adjusted to provide a more direct trip through Middlebury while adding new request stops.
What’s changing:
- The bus will enter the Hannaford parking lot only once during each trip and travel more directly back to Academy Street.
- Deviations will no longer be served. Middlebury riders may access more destinations with MyRide by TVT.
- New request stops have been added at:
- Gather (along Court St.)
- Middlebury Fitness
- Teen Center/Recreation Park (X Bus school schedule only)
No change to Saturday service.

116 Commuter Route
The weekday afternoon #4 trip on the 116 Commuter has been adjusted to better accommodate riders leaving work at the University of Vermont Medical Center and other Burlington employers.
What’s changing:
- The northbound #4 bus will depart Middlebury at 3:45 p.m., instead of 3:30 p.m.
- The southbound #4 bus will depart the Downtown Transit Center in Burlington at 5:30 p.m., instead of 5:15 p.m.
- Tilley Drive is now available as a request stop in both the northbound and southbound directions.
