Ways to Support TVT

Invest in Tri-Valley Transit

Federal ID number: 03-0335768.

Please consider making a charitable contribution to Tri-Valley Transit. It is an investment in the economic, social, and environmental health of Addison, Orange and Northern Windsor Counties. Your dollar counts: TVT’s federal and state funding require a local match, and every dollar donated to TVT unlocks $4. Invest in your community by clicking the PayPal Donate button above. Thank you.

Improving Economic Health

With the average annual cost of owning/operating a car in Vermont rising above $7,500, greater pressure has been placed on household budgets to ensure access to transportation. In our service area, the cost of owning and operating a vehicle is more expensive than owning a home!

  • TVT’s bus system provides rides to and/or from work, school, shopping places and town centers.

Improving Social Health

With 25% of our population at risk of being transit-dependent and the rural nature of our state, the potential for being hidden at home increases. Transit-dependent members of our community are prone to rural isolation which has significant impact on their well-being.

  • TVT’s Bus and Dial-a-Ride systems provide rides to medical appointments, meal sites, nursing/retirement homes, recreational and social service destinations.

Improving Environmental Health

Most of the travel in our region is done in cars, and most of that is done alone.

  • Riding the bus helps our region produce less greenhouse gases, better water quality, and improved health while still enjoying access to jobs, goods and services.

Other ways to Volunteer

Do you like marching in holiday parades? Walk along with the TVT bus at the 4th of July parades to pass out brochures and candy to parade-goers.

Do you have time to help gather petition signatures for TVT? Each fall TVT is required to submit petitions to towns in order to get on town ballots and ask for annual town funding.

Do you like people? Staff a TVT table at events in the county educating folks on TVT’s role as the community transportation provider. Pass out brochures and TVT stuff.
