Tri-Valley Transit (TVT), a nonprofit organization, has been providing critical transportation needs for community members for 49 years. Our dispatchers play a vital role in connecting clients with our services and are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.
The essential function of the position is to communicate our services and schedule rides for our community members in a friendly and compassionate manner. This is an in person position located in Randolph, Vermont.
Customer Service Position Requires:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong customer service skills
- Positive attitude, high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to learn new software and work simultaneously with numerous computer programs and screens
- Ability to handle many calls at a time and to focus in an often fast paced and noisy environment

- Be the Voice of the Community: You’ll manage everything from marketing and fundraising to community outreach and special projects.

Accounting Financial Services Manager

We’re looking for an Accounting Manager – a detail-oriented, organized, and mission-driven professional who will oversee the financial operations that keep Tri-Valley Transit (TVT) moving forward. Your work will ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all aspects of our financial management while supporting a team committed to providing safe, reliable, accessible, and affordable transportation services for our communities.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all accounting department operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Assist in preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and federal and state grant requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes; assist department managers with budget tracking.
- Monitor and reconcile grants, restricted funds, and other specialized accounts.
- Assist with the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Aid in the development, documentation, and improvement of business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff; assist with performance evaluations and foster a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to support organizational goals and strategic decision-making.
- Use data analysis to identify trends, improve processes, and inform leadership decisions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. and internal controls.
- Experience managing federal and state grant funding, including compliance and reporting, a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; MIP experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.

Volunteer Opportunity – COMMUNITY DRIVERS

Do you have a little spare time and a safe vehicle? You can improve the life of a homebound senior, disabled adult or other vulnerable neighbor by driving them to access medical appointments, food and other basic necessities. You tell us how much or little time you are able to devote and we’ll handle all the logistics.
Community Driver Benefits
As a Community Driver for TVT you give your time but receive many benefits in return:
- Reimbursement at the federal mileage rate for all miles driven, including to and from your home (does not affect social security or disability income)
- Additional liability insurance coverage over and above your vehicle insurance
- Medical insurance coverage if you are accidentally injured outside of your vehicle
