Tri-Valley Transit Hosts Annual Bus ‘Roadeo’

May 10, 2022

On Saturday, April 16, Tri-Valley Transit (TVT) hosted the 2022 Annual Vermont Bus Roadeo, a fun spirited, annual competition for public transit drivers around the state sponsored by Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans).  In stiff competition that included 19 drivers from five transportation providers, TVT’s Josh Nau took second place overall and Dino Jandric took home prizes for three individual events.  Josh will attend the National Bus Roadeo and Expo in Louisville, Kentucky next month as a representative of TVT and Vermont.

This was the first time the Bus Roadeo was held since 2019 due to COVID-19 cancellations and 42 volunteers braved the rainy, chilly weather at the American Legion and G. Stone Motors in Middlebury to support the drivers’ hard work and demonstration of their skills.  As Tim Bradshaw, VTrans Public Transit Program Coordinator, put it, “We’re here for you drivers today.  You’re out there providing service every day and this day is all about you.  You’re the true heroes and we’re here to support you.”

TVT was grateful for the opportunity to host the return of the event this year, in which drivers showed off their expertise in a written test and skills in wheelchair securement, pre-trip inspection, and a driving course made up of eight different elements.  The hometown staff was also excited to see their colleagues do so well.  “We are so proud of all of our drivers every day,” said Jim Moulton, TVT Executive Director, “getting the opportunity to see Josh and Dino perform so well among all the wonderful, talented bus drivers from around the state is truly exhilarating.”

TVT enhances the economic, social and environmental health of the region, by providing community transportation services that are safe, reliable, accessible and affordable for everyone.  For more information about TVT’s Bus and Dial-A-Ride Systems, please visit or call your regional office in Addison County at (802)388-2287 and in Orange/N.
